About the system

Modern high-end OEM longhole drill rigs are factory fitted with inclination and automation systems. These systems and drill rigs come at considerable cost, are difficult and expensive to maintain and offer limited data analytics capabilities. 

The AJM longhole drill rig monitoring system was designed to compliment factory fitted OEM systems and to serve as a retro-fit bolt-on systems for drill rigs that have no systems. 

The AJM longhole drill rig data systems are available in two configurations:

  • A basic system inclination and display that assists the operator with boom alignment.
  • A full data system which features ring design imports from Aegis and provides full data logging.

Inclination and operator alignment assist

The basic system retro-fit kit consists of: 

  • 4.3″ Robust operator display and RAM bracket
  • Two robust CAN bus inclinometers for accurate measurement of Rotation and Dip angles
  • Operator User Interface showing: 
    • Boom Rotation and Dip Angles
    • Graphical representation of FAN design 
    • FAN design input screen 

Data logging and analytics are only offered in the full data logging system.

Full data logging and inclination system

Full Data logging and inclination system consist of: 

  • 7″ Robust colour operator display and RAM bracket 
  • Two robust CAN bus inclinometers for accurate measurement of Rotation and DIP angles 
  • Depth measurement piggy-back on existing system OR retrofit on select drill rig models
  • Operator User Interface showing:
    • Boom Rotation and Dip Angles 
    • Drilling Depth 
    • Graphical representation of FAN design
  • FAN design import from Aegis via USB or manual input 
  • Logging of as0drilled metrics, downloadable via FTP server of USB 
  • SSRS reporting and analysis of drilled FANs

 

Main Operator Screen

Menu access:

  • Access to various technician maintenance options

Rock type option:

  • Select between Soft Rock/Hard Rock types for maximum penetration rate adjustment

Pause drilling:

  • Pause current drilling action for maintenance purposes etc.

Current hole Plan vs. Actual:

  • Populated according to swing degrees and planned hole parameters
  • Relevant cell turns green when within defined limits

Swing alignment:

  • Line moves with boom swing
  • Turns green when  swing angle within limits

Current hole depth:

  • Depth of current drilled hole

Shift meters:

  • Cumulative resettable shift meters
  • Current operator name & Co. number

Dip alignment bubble:

  • Quick guide to align boom dip
  • Turns red when angle in within limits

Holing:

  • Mark current hole as “holed when drilling into void
  • Auto Holing parameter
